One of the many things I love about Scituate is the proximity to Boston and the Cape; we’re about 30 miles from both. Last Sunday, we enjoyed a gorgeous November day in Sandwich, the first town encountered after crossing the Sagamore Bridge. Sandwich is the oldest town on the Cape, and it’s known for 1800s glass manufacturing, a great historic district, and the boardwalk. I love the great shops and even better restaurants. Well, one restaurant in particular.
Brunch
The Fisherman’s View is my go-to restaurant because it has it all–canal views that open to the Atlantic, great drinks, and excellent food, especially fresh seafood. My go-to is Bang Bang Shrimp, and my husband loves the Knuckle Sandwich–lobster knuckles, avocado, bacon on Texas toast. Say less.

Fisherman’s View is a destination. People are usually waiting for the doors to open for Sunday brunch, and I promise it’s worth the wait. They also have a great patio for the summer.
Shopping
Next up on my easy Sandwich day is shopping. There are some gorgeous shops with unique items. My go tos are Spotted Cod, Modern Vintage, and Cerulean on the main historic street.

Another cannot miss shop is Thatcher Ellery. So many amazing things displayed so beautifully. Even if you’re not going to Sandwich, get off of 6 and go to Thatcher Ellery. Thank me later.

The Boardwalk
The final stop on my easy Sandwich day is the boardwalk. This gem of a walkway takes you to the beach. Why go to the beach in November? It’s beautiful, restorative, and worth it.

I hope you also have a lovely day in Sandwich!
